Â
The Development of This Work
This work evolved through research, case writing, and teaching in close engagement with organizations—moving from ecological insight into application and ultimately into structured frameworks for circular and regenerative business.
Grounded in In-Company ResearchÂ
Â
Through research with companies pioneering circular product design and new business models, this work examines how organizations translate ecological principles into materials, value chains, and product lifecycles.
Developed Through the Biosphere Rules
The Biosphere Rules were introduced in Harvard Business Review, translating ecological principles into a framework for business strategy.
These ideas were expanded in Earth, Inc., developing their implications for organizations designing circular and regenerative systems.
Extended Through Research and Application
This work was further developed through research and publication in California Management Review, extending the framework into areas such as digital innovation and circular product design.
